Where are we now?
- quiet behind the scenes ministry of Christ Chapel
- Laying Groundwork with some Strong Alliances
- Adoption Financial Assistance Fund (ABBA Fund)
- Partnered with Loving Shepherd Ministries
- Keeps us updated on adoption, foster and orphan concerns
- Provides free christian guidance (and insider information) for those at the beginning of the adoption/foster process.
A Solid Foundation… But, where do we go from here?
We all have our own story, our own experiences. Some have been through international adoptions, some domestic, some (like us) private local adoptions.
I have a dream that this quiet little ministry can grow into a real community. With each of us involved and connecting with others in similar situations… coming alongside those treading the scary (and sometimes treacherous) waters of adoption and foster care.
I can see some of you joining (and even leading) adoptive and foster small groups and support groups.
Perhaps some of you will find a way to minister to those families struggling with infertility.
Some of you may feel the call to mentor birthmothers who are in the midst of making some of the most difficult decisions in their lives.
It’s not too much of a stretch to see Christ Chapel and HISchild becoming a real voice in Fort Worth championing the cause of the orphan… bringing to the fore the global problem of 143 million orphans in the world.
I can see us sponsoring seminars and conferences which address head-on such social issues as infertility, racism, abortion, as well as the obvious adoption and foster care.
We have an opportunity to be the hands and feet of Christ as well as the voice of Christ in addressing these issues in a loving manner that reflects the compassion of our Savior.
I don’t know what this ministry will look like in a year or two… Only God does.
But I do know this, God is doing great things and has a plan for the church to serve orphans around the world. And I also know that God wants to do great things in Christ Chapel and in Fort Worth. But that will require some teamwork with a few of you stepping up and following God’s gentle tug… together we can join hands to make a difference.
